Here is a trip for the ages. We were going to Cortina, ITALY from NY. On the trip down from CT, we were greeted on the Bus with 2 gallons of Geri's Bloody Mary mix... What a start...Our flight was delayed in Newark, but we still made it to our hotel 10 hours late and by about 11PM... The interesting thing about this trip was that the snow began to fall as soon as we got to Cortina... It snowed from Sat night, thru Sunday and then the sun came out for the whole week... Pure Heaven... There were approximately 30 characters on this trip and we had a blast. Heli skiing on Wed. for some, birthday champagne for Mark C., lost money, Federico's magical champagne trick, the Mexicalli Bar, dancing on tables, Edigio from the Hotel, food critics, Venice after skiing, more champagne, Rome playing Football between flights, Grappa shots at Falloria (the Best) with the locals, the International Incident, tour guide from hell, Gold snow, avalanche warning, Italians calling me ANImal after I swore of jumping and then hit a rock outcropping and hit the landing and came out of my bindings, swimming in the olympic pool (Judy had an admirer), viva la figa, rafting off of the Ski jump base, snowball fighting, Geri's Plake hair, hangin' at the restaurant base of Christallo w\ John the ski tuning guru. Skiing down from that base to Cortina village through the woods (heaven)...
