This trip is a perfect example of why two weeks in the Alps works. The first week at Crans-Montana Switzerland was unbelievable. The week before we arrived, they had a great dump of snow. By the time we got to Crans-Montana in a bus full of powder pigs from New Hampshire and CT, we were enjoying the great sun and great conditions of the vast trails of Crans-Montana. The co-towns of Crans-Montana didn't offer very many options for night life, but the snow and conditions more than made up for this...Well, for the most part everyone would après in their Hotel Meribeau rooms or balconies.
Then we were off to Chamonix with 6 of us staying the second week. The weather was not very accommodating, but everyone made the most of it. We did a side ski trip to Courmayeur and it was nice going back to this old style town.

Highlights of the week include:
Crans\Montana: Rolling in on a bus from Geneva (1 1/2 hours), Sunshine, Great Terrain w\ great snow, vast trails, strawberry tart on the mountain, szabo snoring, great view from terrace, BC\Szabo\JS in Hotel (Alpina et Savoy ) the rest at Hotel Meribeau, powder pigs in back country stirring up the lift operator, trip down to Sierre via a interconnecting tram and then a train to Lausanne and the Olympic Museum (1 hour), great walk around Lausanne, Switzerland, wine tour and a side trip to Zermatt w\ Phillip and his van service.
Chamonix: Philip drove 6 (BC\Sally\Jeannie\Bonnie\JT\JS) of us to Chamonix from Crans\Montana, about 2 hours and we arranged for him to pick us up at the end of the week to go to Geneva back home... He is so prompt. Nice cheap hotel, Hotel du Clocher (www.imedserv.com/clocher/), cote de beuf was great, the food, the weather wasn't too great, Lunch at hotel next to Mir de Glasse (take train), Hotel Chamonix dinner, good people, good company. Great logistics, no problems.
